Emergency Youth Accommodation
Emergency Youth Sccommodation (EYA) offers crisis housing to young individuals aged 16 – 25 facing homelessness. Situated in Dandenong, EYA serves as a secure home where youths transition from crisis to empowerment, enabling them to chart their path forward with clarity and confidence.
How Can EYA Help Me?
EYA offers short-term lodging for up to 10 youths with round-the-clock staffing, fostering an environment free from violence, substance abuse, and harassment. Residents receive support to identify steps towards aspirations, develop life skills, find housing solutions, and when possible, mend familial bonds.
Step Ahead Program
Step Ahead offers supported accommodation for single young people aged 16 – 25 years who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness within Casey and Cardinia. This program provides support and resources to help young people live independently and achieve their goals. Participants should be prepared for intensive case management and involved in studying, working, or training.
How Can Step Ahead Help Me?
Participants receive support to achieve their personal goals. While living in shared accommodation, they engage in regular Living and Life Skills workshops, enrol in education, employment, or training activities, and attend support visits with a worker at least twice per week. Participants also sign a lease and abide by the Residential Tenancies Act, allowing them to develop a rental history and gain knowledge for future independent living.
