Assistance for Families Program
Assistance for Families Program (AOF) offers housing aid to families in rooming houses or facing homelessness due to housing issues, with a focus on securing lasting housing solutions. Referrals are directed through local wayss offices by an Initial Assessment and Planning worker.
How Can AOF Help Me?
AOF helps families access, establish, and sustain private rental tenancies for long-term housing stability.
Private Rental Access Program
Private Rental Access Program (PRAP) helps people establish or maintain private rental accommodation by providing advice, information, and flexible financial assistance. The program is available to young people (16 – 25 years), women and their children escaping family violence, and people with a diagnosed mental health condition. PRAP staff support tenants to fulfill lease obligations, build local networks, and live independently.
How Can PRAP Help Me?
PRAP assists families in Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey, Cardinia, and Mornington Peninsula whose private rental is at risk or who have just secured a tenancy. Women and children escaping family violence can receive referrals from wayss or Good Shepherd support workers. Young people can get referrals from Wayss, SalvoCare Eastern, or Youth Links. Eastern Region Mental Health Association’s Mental Health Pathways program can refer individuals with mental health conditions.
Tenancy Plus Program
wayss’ Tenancy Plus program stands up for tenants in social or community housing and offers important and critical support. The program is accessible to tenants residing within the Office of Housing catchments of Dandenong and Frankston.
