Giving back to Dandenong

Miguel Alapont, founder of Alapont Developments, has donated a newly built home in Pakenham to wayss as part of his company’s broader subdivision and development work. It’s a significant contribution, but for Miguel, it’s personal.
His parents migrated from Spain in the mid-1980s, settling in Dandenong and running a small bakery. “I’m lucky,” Miguel says. “But I know what it’s like there.” Growing up in the area, attending Lyndale Primary and Lyndale Secondary, he saw firsthand both the challenges and resilience of the community. Now a successful developer, he’s motivated by a simple principle: helping one family at a time.
“If we can help one family… it feels a little clichéd to say that, but I guess it’s just one family at a time, isn’t it? I believe it’s important my children understand the value of giving back—especially to the community where I grew up” he reflects.
This donation reflects that commitment.
The house will enable wayss to provide a family experiencing homelessness with secure affordable housing; a place to call home and with support start to rebuild lives.
On behalf of wayss, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Miguel, founder of Alapont Developments, for the generous contribution of a thoughtfully designed quality home. Your support will make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership
